New York’s Staten Island. On Wednesday morning, a three-alarm fire in Fort Wadsworth wounded a firefighter and two other individuals.
The citizens and the firefighter were taken to Ocean Breeze’s Staten Island University Hospital. According to an FDNY/EMS spokesperson, everyone is expected to recover from their injuries.
The two-story, 20-by-40-foot house at 51 Hope Lane, close to Tompkins Avenue, was reported to have caught fire at 2:08 a.m.
According to the FDNY spokesman, the fire was contained more than two hours later, at 4:45 a.m., after about 33 units and 138 fire and EMS personnel rushed to the scene.
The cause of the fire is still being looked into.
According to emergency radio contacts, the fire swiftly spread to the house’s first and second levels.
