FDNY: Firefighter seriously injured in Staten Island house fire in Annadale

New York’s Staten Island. On Saturday morning, a home fire in Annadale injured a firefighter.

With severe but non-life-threatening injuries, the FDNY member was taken to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze. An FDNY/EMS spokesperson said that it is uncertain what the firefighter’s present status is.

According to an FDNY representative, the fire was discovered in a two-and-a-half-story, 20-by-50-foot house at 111 Lenzie St. between Harold and Arden avenues shortly before 9:57 a.m. Hylan Boulevard is four blocks north of the home.

According to the spokeswoman, emergency personnel put out the fire in just over an hour, at 11:12 a.m.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
