Fire damages Staten Island apartment building, prompts large FDNY response (photos)

New York’s Staten Island. An extensive FDNY response was called Thursday afternoon to a fire at a Port Richmond apartment complex.

According to emergency radio communications, the fire broke out at approximately midday in a multi-story structure on Heberton Avenue close to Vreeland Street.

The second and third levels of the structure looked to have sustained significant burn damage.

The FDNY had ladders extended to the higher floors of the building, and several windows were broken out.

Since this is a developing story, more details will be added as they become available.
