Free Live Shows Planned for Little Island in NYC for Seven Weeks!

NYC’s Little Island, the floating park renowned for its scenic beauty, is gearing up for a summer of cultural extravagance with the Glade Series. Spanning from July 10th to September 1st, this series promises seven weeks of free, live performances in various artistic genres, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Hudson River.

The lineup features an eclectic mix of performances, starting with blues legend Ruthie Foster on July 10th, accompanied by insightful conversations led by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks.

The series continues with a diverse array of acts, including dance performances by Melissa Toogood, cabaret from Mx Justin Vivian Bond, and a unique multilingual showcase celebrating New York City’s linguistic diversity.

Notably, the series culminates with curated performances by Grammy Award-winning artist Cécile McLorin Salvant from August 21st to 25th, highlighting jazz vocalist Vanisha Gould, folk artist June McDoom, and other talented musicians.

Additionally, Gio Escobar will bring his avant-garde collective to the stage from August 28th to September 1st, promising dynamic bomba and salsa nights.

Throughout the event, visitors can also enjoy the Oyster Market, curated by the founder of New Amsterdam Market. It features live oyster shucking and an Oyster Radio Hour in The Amph.
