Flavortown’s mayor has made his way back to Salt City.
Pastabilities, a restaurant in Syracuse, announced Tuesday that Guy Fieri returned for a new episode of his Food Network TV show. The tenth episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives: Triple D Nation’s sixth season, titled BBQ, Biscuits and a Meatball Bake, will air on the cable channel on Friday, January 3 at 9 p.m. ET.
According to the episode description, a mother-daughter Italian restaurant in Syracuse, New York, is still running strong, serving extravagant angel hair arancini and a powerful meatball bake.
In order to showcase the restaurant’s well-known Spicy Hot Tomato Oil, Pastabilities, which is situated in Armory Square, was originally highlighted on Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in 2012.Hot Tomis are now commercially available at Wegmans and online at hottom.com. More recently, a very spicy, extra hot version has been added.
Actor Chevy Chase, comedian Kevin James, Schitt’s Creek star Eugene Levy, and Charlie Day from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia have all recently visited Pasta’s, which has also become a popular destination for celebrity visits. Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, who star in The Office, even discussed the restaurant on their Office Ladies podcast.
In 2012, Fieri also went to other local eateries, such as the former Empire Brewing Co., Eva’s European Sweets, Kitty Hoynes Irish Pub & Restaurant, Byblos Mediterranean Caf, and Funk n Waffles. Pastabilities made a reappearance on the DDD offshoot series America’s Favorites in 2020, while Fieri has made multiple appearances on Funk n Waffles.

The Food Network will debut the new Triple D Nation episode with Pastabilities on January 3, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET. In addition to including eateries in Atlanta and Indianapolis, the show will rerun on Saturday, January 4 at 12 a.m. ET and on Saturday, February 1 at 4:30 a.m. ET.
