Home heaters sold on Amazon recalled due to fire hazard, risk of electric shock

New York’s Staten Island. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued the recall of over 8,000 entire room heaters because of the potential for electric shock and fire hazards.

Because of the risk, Vornado Air LLC is recalling around 7,780 VH2 Whole Room Heaters, according to CPSC.

According to the recall, there is a risk of electric shock and fire due to the power cord’s partial detachment from the heater enclosure, which can cause damage over time.

These off-white heaters include two heat levels, automatic or continuous fan action, and thermostatic temperature control.

The unit’s front is printed with a vornado and a red V behind it. This recall only applies to units with a date code of JUL24 or AUG24.

From August 2024 to October 2024, the recalled products were offered for sale online at Amazon.com for roughly $90.

Customers should get in touch with Vornado and cease using the recalled heaters right now. According to the notice, they will be instructed on how to obtain a complimentary replacement heater after it has been verified that their device is included in the recall.

You can contact Vornado via email at [email protected] or by phone at 844-205-7978, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Online, it can be accessed at www.vornado.com/recalls/vh2 or www.vornado.com.
