New York’s Staten Island. Thanksgiving for many families wouldn’t be the same without watching the beloved 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz.
After a tornado strikes Kansas, a little girl named Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are swept to the mythical kingdom of Oz and travel to the Emerald City along a Yellow Brick Road. Along the way, they come across a Cowardly Lion in need of courage, a Tin Man in need of a heart, and a Scarecrow in need of a brain. The Wicked Witch of the West is the next person they meet.
Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, Bert Lahr, and Margaret Hamilton are all featured in the movie.
The film is accessible on a number of streaming providers, but it will air on TBS on Thanksgiving Day at 8 p.m.
The movie can be rented or bought on YouTube and Amazon Prime Video. Renters have 30 days to begin viewing, and after that, they have 48 hours to finish. Renting it costs $3.79, and buying it is available for a limited time for $7.99.
