The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is recalling an ice cream product that is sold at Wegmans and Target because it contains an unreported allergy.
1,350 cases of Peach Mango Sorbet are being recalled by the Mochi Ice Cream Company. Unreported pasteurized cooked egg white may be present in the frozen dessert. Consuming these items increases the risk of a severe or fatal allergic reaction in people who are allergic to or extremely sensitive to eggs.
Retailers around the country received the merchandise.
The My Mochi brand and the Peach Mango flavor help you identify the product. The product is located in the freezer department and comes in an orange, 7.5-ounce, six-count box that is tagged with lots 337-24 and 341-24.
The FDA notification states that there have been two reports of mild allergic reactions.
After it was found that a product containing pasteurized egg white was sold in packaging that concealed the egg white’s existence, the recall was started. According to the FDA warning, further examination shows that the issue was brought on by a brief malfunction in the business’s packing procedures.
Customers are encouraged to return My Mochi Peach Mango Sorbet with lots 337-24 & 341-24 to the store where they bought it in order to receive a complete refund.
Customers can reach the business at 1-844-696-6244 with inquiries.
