According to a legendary rock artist, he may have a connection to a well-known comedian.
In a recent interview with Howie Mandel, Billy Corgan, the frontman of Smashing Pumpkins, disclosed that his stepmother believes Bill Burr to be his half-brother. After the presenter of the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast unintentionally posted a picture of Burr behind him, Corgan revealed a startling anecdote that he had never previously shared.
The artist recalled that ten years ago, when my stepmother was present at one of my brothers’ birthday parties, she asked me, “Do you know who Bill Burr is?” At that time, I was unaware of Bill Burr’s identity and had never heard of him. I had no idea that he was a comedian. The man down the street might have been him.
Corgan claimed that when he looked at a photo of Burr on his phone at the time, he saw how much he looked like his father.
According to Corgan, Bill Burr resembles my father more than he does me or I resemble him. “I believe it could be one of your father’s illegitimate children,” she says. When your father was a traveling musician, he may have had children, including Bill Burr.
According to Corgan, his father reportedly informed him that he had a half-brother named Bill who was born about the same time as him. He added that the story was accurate. Corgan stated that although he may have 12 half-siblings in total, Burr is not, in his opinion, one of them.
It’s just one of those things, in my opinion. According to Corgan, some people in the world are just same in appearance.
It’s unknown whether Burr’s or Corgan’s families have ever conducted a DNA test. Burr has not addressed Corgan’s story in public.
Burr, 56, is a Massachusetts-born stand-up comedian and actor with roles in Old Dads, The Mandalorian, and Breaking Bad. His stand-up special, Paper Tiger, earned him a Grammy Award nomination.
Corgan, 57, is a Chicago-based professional wrestling promoter who is most recognized for his role as The Smashing Pumpkins’ lead singer and guitarist. Today, 1979, Bullet with Butterfly Wings, Disarm, Ava Adore, and Tonight, Tonight are some of the alternative rock band’s hits.
