New York’s Staten Island — Salvatore Russo, 26, a resident of Tottenville, has always been motivated by his father’s work ethic. Russo’s father and namesake, a wholesale coffee firm owner, taught his son that perseverance is rewarded.
During his time at Tottenville High School, Russo worked at his father’s business, Plaza House Coffee, where he gained knowledge of the ins and outs of coffee roasting, private label packaging, and distribution.
“I became interested in the coffee industry because of this experience,” he stated. I wanted to pursue this as a career just because I spent so much time with my dad. I always wanted to work with him; I wouldn’t even want to go to school. I came into the business from birth.
For this reason, Russo established a division of his father’s company that he could name his own. In April 2023, Java & Gelato Mobile Cafe opened its doors in Tottenville. The mobile cafe has now become quite popular for weddings, parties, and other private gatherings.
I wanted to introduce gourmet coffee and gelato to a wider audience in a distinctive and interesting way since I was motivated by my father’s love of coffee,” Russo stated. I was drawn to the concept of a mobile cafe because it offers flexibility and the chance to engage with a wide variety of clients and companies.
What s On The Menu?
Along with pastries and a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos, and macchiatos, the menu offers over 20 different types of gelato. According to Russo, the mobile cafe also has a liquor menu that includes espresso martinis, spiked lattes, and spiked hot chocolate.
Our talented baristas are committed to creating exceptional drinks by hand using the best coffee available, such as rich espresso, smooth lattes, and cool cold brews. Everyone can find something they like here. Not to be overlooked is the gelato. He claimed that indulging in this rich, creamy Italian dish would sate your sweet tooth.
According to Russo, Java & Gelato Mobile Cafe can adapt its menu to suit any occasion.
Since he started the company, Russo has also been hired for numerous events by a variety of businesses, big and small.
The best thing about my job is that I never know who will call to make an event reservation. According to him, I like the diversity of dealing with different people and organizations, ranging from little businesses to larger ones like Dolce Vita, CVS, PayPal, and Venmo.
Russo claimed that he is well-suited to operate a profitable mobile cafe because of his industry expertise and amiable personality.
He claimed that because I am affable, I am able to establish a more intimate connection with clients, improving their experience. Additionally, I am well-versed in the coffee business, guaranteeing superior goods and services. I’m a good fit for operating a mobile café because of my flexibility and ability to collaborate with different individuals and businesses.
