New York’s Staten Island. According to initial NYPD information, an 84-year-old man is critically injured after being hit by a car Friday night while crossing a street in Tottenville.
Around 6:58 p.m., the guy was hit by a car driven by an 80-year-old woman outside of 7309 Amboy Road, according to the NYPD spokesman.
The FDNY reported that the victim was transported to Prince’s Bay’s Staten Island University Hospital.
A portion of Amboy Road between Sprague Avenue and Wood Avenue was temporarily blocked off from traffic and taped off by police after the crash.
There was still a dark-colored automobile with a broken windshield.
According to the NYPD spokeswoman, the investigation is still ongoing.
In the past ten days, there have been numerous incidents on Staten Island when cars have struck pedestrians.
During the Wednesday evening rush hour in St. George, a 60-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a school bus while he was crossing the street in the middle, according to reports.
A 64-year-old lady was killed on Wednesday as well when she was hit by a car on her way to work on the Staten Island University hospital campus.
And on Wednesday, December 4, a car struck a 92-year-old woman pedestrian crossing Hylan Boulevard, seriously injuring her.
