Metal band singer admits he faked cancer to raise money for personal expenses

Nathaphon Bon Jutathaveewan, the leader of the metal band Annalynn, has apparently acknowledged that he made it all up just months after telling fans he had stomach cancer.

Over the summer, Jutathaveewan reportedly started using a GoFundMe page to assist cover the expense of treatment. According to Loudwire, they even started selling T-shirts. However, Jutathaveewan has since acknowledged that it was all a hoax and that he utilized the funds to settle personal debts, according to Loudwire.

He allegedly added in a statement, “I would like to offer my sincere apologies for everything that has transpired, especially for the deception around my health issues and the false claims that were made.” I sincerely apologize for what I did and take full responsibility for my errors. I sincerely apologize for the pain and suffering this has brought about. My personal financial difficulties, such as debts from unlawful loans and bad business choices that I was unable to control over time, were the root of my issues. I was under a lot of pressure, both financially and psychologically, and the situation got so bad that I couldn’t see a way out, which is why I made the mistakes I did.

He went on, “Unfortunately, I have betrayed the kindness and trust that so many of you have shown me.” I sincerely regret that my bad choices have affected not just my life but also the lives of those around me. I want to make it clear that nobody else was involved in these problems, not even the music label, my friends, my family, or my bandmates.

Jutathaveewan claimed that he had gained priceless lessons from the experience and was no longer dealing with the fallout from his deeds.

He went on, “I’m determined to do everything within my power to put things right and get this resolved as soon as possible.” Although I am aware that what I have said cannot repair the harm already done, I sincerely hope you will pardon me. I sincerely regret the hurt and trouble my actions have caused, as well as the betrayal of trust.

According to the band’s statement, they met and requested evidence that Jutathaveewan was ill when they first had doubts about his assertions. According to the statement, two months have gone by and he still hasn’t produced any paperwork proving his illness.

Naturally, we now see why.

As for Jutathaveewan, it’s difficult to recover from lying about having cancer and using that to raise money, but it will be interesting to watch where the band goes from here.
