Recently, two fortunate winners of third-prize Powerball tickets in New York City won $50,000.
The New York Lottery declared that the two winning tickets for the drawing on January 25th matched the red Powerball and four white balls. In Flushing, Queens, at Skyview Newstand, 4024 College Point Blvd., one ticket was sold. North Conduit Auto Center, 162-35 N Conduit Ave., Jamaica, Queens, sold another ticket.
The drawing’s winning numbers are red Powerball 14, white balls 8, 15, 17, 53, and 66.
In the Powerball game, the winning numbers are selected from a range of 1 to 69. A different field ranging from 1 to 26 is used to select the Powerball number. Players must match the red Powerball number and all five white balls in any order to win the jackpot.
Every day of the week, Powerball tickets are available for $2 at any New York Lottery shop. On draw nights, tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m.
The New York Lottery encourages players to purchase tickets in advance to avoid last-minute lineups for the drawings, which take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 11 p.m.
Through the New York Lottery app, players can safely check their tickets.
Any amount of money won in a lottery draw can be claimed within a year of the drawing date.
