N.Y. Lottery: 2 winners snag $50K each from Powerball tickets

New York’s Staten Island. After winning tickets Friday night, two fortunate Queens winners are taking home third-place Powerball winnings.

The $50,000 that each lottery player will receive is a fantastic way to cap off an apparently endless January.

One winner obtained their ticket from Jamaica’s North Conduit Auto Center Inc., located at 162-35 N. Conduit Ave., and the other winner obtained their ticket from Flushing’s Skyview Newsstand Inc., located at 4024 College Point Blvd.

In the Powerball game, the winning numbers are selected from a range of 1 to 69. A different field ranging from 1 to 26 is used to select the Powerball number. Players must match the red Powerball number and all five white balls in any order to win the jackpot.

Every day of the week, Powerball tickets are available for $2 at any New York Lottery shop. On draw nights, tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m.

The New York Lottery encourages players to purchase tickets in advance to avoid last-minute lineups for the drawings, which take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 11 p.m.
