New York’s Staten Island. According to lottery authorities, two $50,000 third-prize Powerball tickets were recently sold in New York state.
The two winning tickets for the Dec. 11 drawing matched the red Powerball and four white balls, according to the New York Lottery. Wegmans, located at 7952 Brewerton Road in Cicero, and Tops Markets, located at 345 Amherst St. in Buffalo, both sold one ticket that won a reward.
White balls 13, 44, 50, 52, and 54, as well as Powerball 20, were the winning numbers that night.
In the Powerball game, the winning numbers are selected from a range of 1 to 69. A different field ranging from 1 to 26 is used to select the Powerball number. Players must match the red Powerball number and all five white balls in any order to win the jackpot.
Every day of the week, Powerball tickets are available for $2 at any New York Lottery shop. On draw nights, tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m.
The New York Lottery encourages players to purchase tickets in advance to avoid last-minute lineups for the drawings, which take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 11 p.m.
Through the New York Lottery app, players can safely check their tickets.
