N.Y. Lottery: Player claims Cash4Life second prize as one-time lump sum

According to lottery authorities, a player in the New York Lottery has claimed $1 million after winning a second-prize Cash4Life ticket.

On May 15, 2024, Floral Park resident Arturo Juarez won a $1,000 A Week For Life second prize for correctly matching the first five numbers drawn in the Cash4Life game. The minimum payout for this second prize is guaranteed to be $1 million.

The winning ticket was bought in Old Bethpage, New York, at Jays Cards & Gift, which is situated at 712 Old Bethpage Road.

After the necessary withholdings, Juarez chose to receive a single lump sum payment of $651,000.

That night’s winning numbers were Cash Ball 1, 8, 14, 25, 36, and 58.

In the Cash4Life game, winning numbers are selected from a range of 1 to 60. A different field with numbers 1 through 4 is used to draw the cash ball. Match the six numbers on your ticket to the winning six-number combination that is drawn, which consists of five numbers plus the cash ball, to win the Cash4Life top prize.

The grand reward is a lifetime of $1,000 every day. At the winner’s election, it can be paid as a one-time lump sum payment or as a $365,000 annual annuity for the winner’s lifetime (minimum of 20 years). The lump sum payment is equivalent to the expected amount of money needed to buy the annuity.

Every day at around nine o’clock at night, the Cash4Life drawing is held.
