N.Y. Lottery: Player wins $50,000 with Powerball third-prize ticket

Recently, a fortunate lottery player in New York State won $50,000 using a Powerball ticket that was the third prize.

The winning ticket for the drawing on January 1st, according to the New York Lottery, matched the red Powerball and four white balls. It was offered for sale in Ridgewood, New York’s Myrtle Convenience Deli, which is situated at 6815 Myrtle Ave.

The drawing’s winning numbers are red Powerball 26 and white balls 6, 12, 28, 35, and 66.

In the Powerball game, the winning numbers are selected from a range of 1 to 69. A different field ranging from 1 to 26 is used to select the Powerball number. Players must match the red Powerball number and all five white balls in any order to win the jackpot.

Every day of the week, Powerball tickets are available for $2 at any New York Lottery shop. On draw nights, tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m.

The New York Lottery encourages players to purchase tickets in advance to avoid last-minute lineups for the drawings, which take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 11 p.m.

Through the New York Lottery app, players can safely check their tickets.
