N.Y. Lottery Powerball winner hits $50k with Manhattan lotto ticket

After winning the third-place Powerball Jackpot last night, a New York Powerball player is raking in cash.

The fortunate winner purchased their ticket at West Village Grocery Inc., located at 46 8th Ave. in Manhattan, for an astounding $50,000.

In the Powerball game, the winning numbers are selected from a range of 1 to 69. A different field ranging from 1 to 26 is used to select the Powerball number. Players must match the red Powerball number and all five white balls in any order to win the jackpot.

Every day of the week, Powerball tickets are available for $2 at any New York Lottery shop. On draw nights, tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m.

The New York Lottery encourages players to purchase tickets in advance to avoid last-minute lineups for the drawings, which take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 11 p.m.

Through the New York Lottery app, players can safely check their tickets.
