New liquor licenses granted on Staten Island: Popular bakery-restaurant among those who got them

Every week, new delis, bars, and restaurants obtain permits to serve alcohol, keeping the New York State Liquor Authority busy with Staten Island’s thriving restaurant and retail environment.

So that Staten Islanders can see the newly established (or soon to open) establishments in the borough, we are publishing a list of companies that received new liquor licenses in order to keep tabs on the activities.

New licenses granted since January 1 are reflected in this list.

An important issue regarding this compilation is that the New York State Liquor Authority contributed the information. Some business listings use the company’s legal name instead of its operating name.

Restaurants

Cafe Filoncino, 2935 Veterans Road West # K

July 2024 saw the opening of the current bakery-restaurant; a new liquor license was obtained. The Royal Crown owners founded the franchise. Pamela Silvestri, food editor, writes:

The menu contains a few unusual touches that set the company apart. Bread is freshly made on the spot. Olive oil and Grupo Roso balsamic vinegar glaze are examples of proprietary ingredients that are frequently used in food preparation.

Additionally, the entire inventory is approached from scratch with this Filoncino. The latter enables imaginative jigs on things such as the crownie, Filoncino’s fusion of doughnut and zeppole.
