Northwell opens 6th urgent care on Staten Island, serving South Shore

Residents of Charleston, Rossville, Tottenville, and the surrounding areas can now access care at Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care’s newest location in Charleston, New York.

Erica DeMint, market president of Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care, stated, “Our newest center on Staten Island expands access to care for people who live or work in and around Charleston so they can get medical attention when they need it, whether in-person or virtually.”

The facility is the sixth Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care on Staten Island and is situated at 2935 Veterans Road West in South Shore Commons. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with different hours on holidays.

For adults and children six months of age and up, Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care addresses common, non-life-threatening medical issues such as upper respiratory infections, minor wounds, ear infections, fractures, and STDs.

The facility provides flu shots, COVID-19 testing, and on-site X-rays.

According to MedHelp, visits to urgent care centers are generally less expensive than ER visits, costing $150 on average as opposed to $2,000 for ER appointments.
