NY weather: Be prepared for gusty winds in New York until 2 a.m. Tuesday

At 11:32 p.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service issued a weather alert for Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, and Schenectady counties, warning of strong gusts through 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

“The Mohawk Valley and Saratoga region will continue to be affected by a period of strong gusty west to southwest winds until two in the morning. There may be a few power outages at this period due to the possibility of wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph, which might blow about unsecured things and possibly bring down some tree branches. Extra caution is urged in these places during this time due to the strong gusty gusts that will make driving challenging, especially for high-profile vehicles. The weather service predicts that these high wind gusts will lessen after two in the morning.

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
