NY weather: Be prepared for heavy snow in New York Friday morning

At 5:45 a.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service reported that Schoharie, Greene, Columbia, and Ulster counties would see significant snowfall through 6:30 a.m.

“At 5:44 a.m., a band of heavy snow was near Prattsville, or 10 miles northwest of Hunter moving southeast at 30 MPH,” according to the meteorological service.

This includes the area around exit 20 on Interstate 87.

In the following areas, expect significant snowfall:
