NY weather update: High wind warning affecting New York until Tuesday morning

The National Weather Service issued an updated strong wind warning for Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, and Chautauqua counties on Monday at 7:49 p.m., which will remain in force until Tuesday at 6 a.m.

In addition, the weather service warns of “Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.”

“Power wires and trees will be toppled by strong winds. Trees with dead ash will be particularly vulnerable. There may likely be intermittent power disruptions. It will be challenging to travel, particularly for well-known cars,” the weather agency says. “Avoid being outside near trees and in wooded regions. When driving, exercise caution.

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
