NY weather update: Jefferson County under a high wind warning until Tuesday morning

The National Weather Service issued an updated high wind warning for Jefferson County on Monday at 6:02 a.m., which is in effect from 7 a.m. to Tuesday at 6 a.m.

As stated by the meteorological service, “Southwest winds of 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.”

“Power wires and trees will be toppled by strong winds. There may likely be intermittent power disruptions. Travel will be challenging, particularly for well-known cars, the weather service said. “Avoid being outside near trees and in wooded regions. Avoid windows during the windstorm and try to stay in the lower floors of your house. If you have to drive, exercise caution.
