NY weather update: Lake effect snow warning for New York until early Monday evening

At 5:03 a.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service revised its lake effect snow warning for the counties of Niagara, Orleans, and Monroe.

“Heavy lake effect snow,” the weather service remarks. The most persistent lake snows accumulate an additional 4 to 8 inches of snow. The areas north of Route 104 will have the highest concentrations.

“The roads will be slick with snow, making travel challenging. The weather service says the dangerous conditions will affect the Monday morning commute. “The weather during lake effect snow can range from dry conditions a few kilometers distant to bands of locally heavy snow with significantly limited visibility. Be ready for sudden changes in road conditions, visibility, and weather.

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
