The National Weather Service issued an updated lake effect snow warning for Oneida, Onondaga, and Madison counties on Sunday at 10:11 a.m., which is in effect until 7 p.m.
“Heavy lake effect snow,” the weather service reports. In the most severe snow bands north of the NYS Thruway, there were extra snow accumulations ranging from 6 to 10 inches. less outside of the strongest band.

To maintain prices, snow removal will need to be ongoing, the weather service warns. “Call 5 1 1 to get the most recent road conditions for the state you are calling from. The weather during lake effect snow might range from dry conditions a few miles distant to bands of heavy snow locally. Visibilities can differ significantly as well. Be ready for sudden changes in road conditions, visibility, and weather.
