NY weather update: Wind advisory for New York until early Tuesday evening

At 7:04 a.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued an updated wind advisory for Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Schoharie, Schenectady, Saratoga, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia, and Ulster counties. The advisory was in force until 4 p.m.

Additionally, according to the meteorological service, “Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.”

“Unsecured objects will be buffeted by gusty gusts. According to the weather service, there may be a few power outages and tree branches that are blown down. Strong winds like these can make driving challenging, particularly for well-known cars. Be especially careful. Protect outdoor items.
