The National Weather Service issued a revised wind advisory at 3:24 a.m. Thursday that is good for Thursday between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. in the counties of Yates, Seneca, Cayuga, Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Tompkins, Tioga, Broome, Delaware, and Sullivan.
Additionally, the weather service states that “west winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected.”
“Unsecured objects will be buffeted by gusty gusts. The weather service warns of the possibility of isolated power outages and the blowing down of tree branches. Strong winds like these can make driving challenging, particularly for well-known cars. Be especially careful. Protect outside items, such as Christmas decorations.
