The National Weather Service issued a revised wind advisory at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday that will be in force until 10 p.m. for Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Westchester, Suffolk, Nassau, Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, Brooklyn, and Queens counties.
In addition, the weather service warns of “Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.”
“Some tree limbs will be brought down by strong winds, and there may be some power outages. The weather service warns that “unsecured objects will be blown around and/or damaged.” Strong winds like these can make driving challenging, particularly for well-known cars. Be especially careful. Protect outdoor items.
United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
