The National Weather Service issued an updated winter weather advisory for Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegany counties on Tuesday at 10:38 p.m., which is valid for Thursday between 1 a.m. and 1 p.m.
According to the meteorological service, “mixed precipitation is expected.” Ice accumulations are about a tenth of an inch, while total snow and sleet accumulations are less than an inch.
“Account for the possibility of slick roads. The weather service says the dangerous conditions will affect the Thursday morning commute. Roads will become slick and visibility will be restricted during snow, sleet, or freezing rain events. When driving, reduce your speed and exercise caution.
