At 8 a.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service reported that Delaware and Sullivan counties would have heavy snow through 9 a.m.
“At 8 a.m., a band of heavy snow was along a line extending from near Roxbury to near Harvard and moving southeast at 30 MPH,” according to the weather service.
Rockland, Liberty, Neversink, South Fallsburg, Margaretville, Fleischmanns, Parksville, Loch Sheldrake, Hazel, and Harvard are among the places affected by the alert. The highway exits listed below are included in this: Interstate 86/Route 17 between 89 and 101.
“If you have to travel into or through this band of heavy snow, exercise extra caution,” the weather service cautions. Accidents may result from abrupt changes in visibility and perhaps slick roads.
