At 11:42 a.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service released a forecast for Warren and Washington counties that called for heavy snow through 12:30 p.m.
“At 11:42 a.m., an area of heavy snow was near Bolton Landing, or near Warrensburg moving east at 45 MPH,” the weather service reports.
The following locations are affected by the alert: Johnsburg, Comstock, Bolton Landing, Poultney Village, Mount Hope, Bolton, Hampton, Lake George, Fort Ann, Thurman Station, Cleverdale, Sodom, Wevertown, North Granville, South Bay Village, Warrensburg, Whitehall, Lake George Village, Granville, and Johnsburg. Interstate 87 between exits 22 and 24 is included in this.
“If you have to travel into or through this area of heavy snow, exercise extra caution,” the weather service cautions. Accidents may result from abrupt changes in visibility and perhaps slick roads.
