NY weather: Weather alert for snow showers in New York Wednesday night

At 10:34 p.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service issued a forecast for snow showers in Fulton, Montgomery, Schenectady, Saratoga, Albany, Rensselaer, and Washington counties through 11:15 p.m.

“At 10:33 p.m., a band of heavy snow showers was along a line extending from near Mechanicville to near Ballston Spa to near Galway and moving southeast at 30 MPH,” according to the meteorological service.

The following roadways are included in this: Interstate 90 close to exit 26. Interstate 87 from exits 8A to 12; Interstate 890 from exits 1a to 6.

The following areas should see snow showers:


  • Mechanicville, Round Lake, Country Knolls, East Glenville, and Burnt Hills around 10:40 p.m.

  • Clifton Park around 10:55 p.m.

In cold weather conditions, things might quickly get worse. Be ready for roads covered with ice or snow. Reduce your speed and give yourself more time to get there.
