NY weather: Wind advisory affecting New York until Wednesday night

At 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the counties of Yates, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Tompkins, Cortland, Chenango, Tioga, and Broome that would last until 9 p.m.

According to the meteorological service, “Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.”

“Unsecured objects will be buffeted by gusty gusts. According to the weather service, there may be a few power outages and tree branches that are blown down. Strong winds like these can make driving challenging, particularly for well-known cars. Be especially careful.
