At 3:40 a.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Monroe, Wayne, Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, Lewis, Livingston, Ontario, and Allegany counties. The advisory was in effect from 7 p.m. until Friday at 10 a.m.
Additionally, the weather service states that “west winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.”
“Unsecured objects will be buffeted by gusty gusts. According to the weather service, “a few power outages may result and tree limbs could be blown down.” “Be extremely careful when driving, particularly if you’re in a prominent car. Protect outdoor items.
