NY weather: Wind advisory issued for New York until Tuesday night

At 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany, Greene, and Ulster counties that would last until 10 p.m.

“Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 to 50 mph,” the weather service reports. “Breezy conditions will continue overnight tonight with gusts up to 30 to 40mph.”

“Unsecured objects will be buffeted by gusty gusts. According to the weather service, “a few power outages may result and tree limbs could be blown down.” Strong winds like these can make driving challenging, particularly for well-known cars. Be especially careful. Protect outdoor items.

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
