NYC Council passes ‘City of Yes’ housing plan, paving way for 82,000 new homes

In light of the city’s housing scarcity, the plan, which the City Council will vote on this year, calls for major zoning changes intended to encourage the construction of new residences and apartments.

HALL OF CITY Following a City Council vote Thursday, the zoning rules in New York City will be changed to permit the construction of an estimated 82,000 new housing units.
