NYC HS wrestling: Farrell claims Donald Douglas Memorial crown; 7 Islanders claim gold (photos)

Monsignor Farrell has established itself as the top wrestling program in the city and on Staten Island.

That comes following Sunday’s victory by the powerful Lions at the Michael J. Petrides complex in Sunnyside in the Donald Douglas Memorial Championships, formerly known as the Mayor’s Cup. Farrell took first place in 2023, but last year’s Mayor’s Cup was canceled due to a heating issue at a city site.
