New York’s Staten Island. The South Shore community board was recently found to be in breach of several local and state laws and regulations by the city legal department.
In a Nov. 4 letter that the Advance/SILive.com was able to obtain, the Law Department largely agreed with three elected officials who wanted Community Board 3 to change a number of things, such as the board’s excessive use of virtual meetings, the purported lack of meeting recordings, the lack of notice regarding executive meetings, the lack of the board’s bylaws, their hiring procedure for a new district manager, and the financial impact of that new hire.
