NYC Weather: City breaks freeze, but snow and rain possible this week

New York’s Staten Island. This week may feel like a welcome change after a week of severe cold.

AccuWeather predicts that Sunday’s high will reach 42 degrees as 28 mph winds blow around the island amid the dense clouds and a glimmering sun.

With the exception of increased sun, which should help melt any remaining snow, Monday will begin the workweek in a similar manner to Sunday.

However, there will be some precipitation on Tuesday and Wednesday; whether it takes the form of rain, snow, or a combination of the two is yet unknown. Depending on when it occurs, the precipitation might cause traffic jams. AccuWeather estimates that Tuesday’s mix will occur in the morning. Additionally, Wednesday’s mix could run all day.

With highs of 38 and 43 degrees, respectively, Tuesday and Wednesday will be within five degrees of one another.

With a warm high of 34 degrees, Thursday will be slightly colder than the previous weekdays. According to AccuWeather, the day will be partly sunny and chilly with a breezy start. The main idea? It will be 27 degrees that RealFeel, so forget about the umbrella and bring clothes.

Once again, Friday’s high will be a warm 40 degrees, but the sun will be on our side as clouds cover the sky above us on the last day of January.

The clouds for Saturday and Sunday will be almost identical, however Saturday will be colder than Sunday. Rain gear will be your best friend if you were planned to perform any outdoor work because the likelihood of rain is expected to grow from Saturday into Sunday.
