NYPD: 3 sought for drawing swastikas in separate incidents Manhattan, Queens

In relation to two distinct alleged instances of aggravated harassment/hate crime that took place in Manhattan and Queens, the New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying three people.

In the first incident, authorities were notified that at around 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, an anonymous person allegedly scrawled a swastika symbol on the arch inside Manhattan’s Washington Square Park before escaping on foot in an undetermined route. There were no reported injuries.

A surveillance photo of the wanted person has been made public by the NYPD, which is conducting an investigation through its Hate Crimes Task Force.

According to police, two anonymous guys allegedly drew two swastikas in the snow inside 80-00 Utopia Parkway on the St. John’s University campus at around 2:15 p.m. on Friday, January 24, before escaping on foot to an undetermined destination. There were no reported injuries.

The department has issued surveillance photos of the wanted individuals, who are thought to be between 18 and 20 years old and have medium complexions, according to the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force, which is conducting the investigation.

The first person was last saw sporting black sneakers, black trousers, a black hoodie sweater, and a black bubble jacket.

When last seen, the second person was dressed in black trousers, a black jacket, and black and white sneakers.
