New York’s Staten Island. According to an NYPD spokeswoman, early Sunday morning on a South Shore street, a 14-year-old kid was slashed in the leg, a 16-year-old girl was slashed on her arm, and a 19-year-old man was slashed in the leg.
According to police, preliminary indications suggest that the slashings happened at around two in the morning outside of a house on Chesebrough Street in Eltingville.
The victims claim that the violence broke out outside the house after they got into a fight with a man who followed them back to the house after they were strolling to a bagel store, according to a law enforcement source.
In stable condition, all three victims were transported to Staten Island University Hospital North.
The suspect was identified by the police as a man in a grey sweatsuit. Police requested an aerial search overnight, but the fog prevented it from happening, according to emergency messages.
The NYPD spokeswoman stated that the investigation is still underway and that no arrests have been made.
Detectives were searching for video of the event, interviewing possible witnesses, and knocking on houses at the scene on Sunday.
Police talked to a person who was on crutches and had a noticeable bandage wound around their lower right leg while they were on duty.
Police replies on the area, which is a short walk from the Eltingville train station, have increased in recent years, according to neighbors.
