New York’s Staten Island. According to police, a man was hit by a car during the Monday morning rush hour in West Brighton while crossing the street, resulting in a head injury.
According to initial information given to a spokeswoman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information, the pedestrian collision occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m. near Forest Avenue and Raymond Place.
According to the police spokeswoman, the preliminary investigation showed that a white Mazda SUV turning left from Forest Avenue onto Raymond Place struck a guy who was crossing the street in the crosswalk.
According to authorities, the male had a head injury and was transported by emergency medical services to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton.
The victim’s age and condition were not immediately available to the authorities.
The Mazda’s driver stayed on the scene.
According to a source familiar with the investigation, no criminal activity is now suspected.
The Highway District Collision Investigation Squad of the New York Police Department was present.
