NYPD: Pair sought for questioning in connection to series of unusual robberies in Manhattan, Queens

The NYPD is requesting the public’s help in locating two people who are wanted for interrogation in relation to a string of robberies that are purported to have taken place in Manhattan and Queens.

According to authorities, two unidentified people allegedly distracted a UPS driver and took a package containing $163,000 worth of jewels from the rear of the truck on Friday, September 20, at around 2:00 p.m., in the area of 82 Bowery St. in Manhattan. No injuries were reported, and the people fled on foot.

At before 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, at the intersection of 11th Avenue and West 46th Street in Manhattan, a 33-year-old man was changing his automobile tire when the two unidentified suspects allegedly took a jewelry-filled bag out of his vehicle and fled on foot. According to authorities, there were no reported injuries.

Police say that in a previously reported incident on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at around 2:40 p.m., a 48-year-old woman victim got out of her car to check on a problem with her rear passenger tire near Northern Boulevard and 159th Street in Queens when the two unidentified people allegedly took a package out of the car. No injuries were reported, and the two left the scene on foot.

The NYPD made surveillance photos of the people they were looking for public.
