Pete Davidson invites TV show hosts to broadcast from the Staten Island ferryboat he owns with Colin Jost

New York’s Staten Island. Today show broadcasters Craig Melvin and Savannah Guthrie are welcome to stop by Pete Davidson’s Staten Island Ferry.

The comedian visited today on Friday to talk about Dog Man, his animated comedy. Guthrie brought up the defunct ship that Davidson and his former Saturday Night Live co-star Colin Jost paid $280,000 for in 2022 during the discussion.

The ferry was bought by the two to be used as a live entertainment venue. It has hosted the Tommy Hilfiger fashion show in 2024 and used as the backdrop for the horror comedy Screamboat while undergoing renovations.

Davidson revealed that although he and Jost talk about the ferry’s future a lot and are almost done with their plans, things haven’t gone as planned.

Then, Guthrie asked Davidson whether she and Melvin may be able to broadcast a Today show from the ferry.

That’s something you can do at any time. Davidson answered, “Anytime you guys want to come aboard.”

Jost has since told People that the purchase was the most foolish and ill-considered thing she has ever done in her life. The comedian claimed that the ferry’s excellent pricing per square foot in New York was his justification for purchasing it.

Scarlett Johansson, his wife, appears to concur.

On January 22, the movie actress made a lighthearted suggestion that Jost sell the boat, perhaps for scrap metal, during an appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends. In jest, the pair even begged viewers to assist them in covering the cost of the investment.

All I can say is, “Please be my guest if you would like to start a GoFundMe for the Staten Island Ferry,” Johansson added. I’m not sure if I’m advocating for or opposing the Staten Island Ferry, but please support our family. The Staten Island Ferry is now being supported through a telethon.
