In a shocking and heart-wrenching incident, police in Brooklyn are on the hunt for a suspect who violently assaulted a terrified 6-year-old girl during a daring daylight robbery. The young victim, along with her 14-year-old sister, fell prey to the assailant’s ruthless actions in their apartment building near Eastern Parkway and Ralph Avenue in Crown Heights.
According to eyewitness accounts and police reports, the suspect, described as a man between 25 to 40 years old, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, and sporting dark hair tied into a ponytail, approached the sisters in the building’s lobby. What began as a routine walk home from school turned into a nightmare when the man cornered them, demanding their gold necklaces—precious birthday gifts from their mother.
In a harrowing ordeal, the assailant forcibly grabbed the 6-year-old by the neck, causing her unimaginable fear and distress. The older sister recounted the terrifying moments, stating, “The man grabbed me by the neck, and then my sister looked, and she started getting scared. I didn’t have time. … I couldn’t react. I only looked at my sister, and she was screaming.”
As the younger girl cried out in fear, the suspect callously ripped the necklace from her delicate neck. But his cruelty didn’t stop there; he proceeded to snatch the older sister’s jewelry before fleeing the scene, leaving both girls shaken and traumatized.
Thankfully, swift action by law enforcement and emergency responders ensured that the victims received prompt medical attention. Both sisters were taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where they were treated for their physical injuries and provided with emotional support to cope with the psychological trauma inflicted by the assailant’s vicious assault.
