Police Alert: Man in NYC Kicks 79-Year-Old in The Face, Knocking Him out In Random Attack!

In a shocking and heartless act of violence, a 79-year-old man was brutally attacked in Brooklyn earlier this week, leaving him critically injured. The incident took place just before 11 p.m. on Monday, as the elderly victim, identified by WABC as Saleh Yahya, was walking along Flatbush Avenue near Lincoln Road in the Prospect-Lefferts Gardens neighborhood.

According to authorities, the assailant approached Yahya without any prior interaction or provocation and viciously kicked him in the face. The force of the blow sent Yahya crashing to the ground, where he immediately lost consciousness. The unprovoked nature of the attack has left the community in shock and raised concerns about safety in the area.

Yahya, a septuagenarian with no immediate family to care for him, was rushed to Kings County Hospital Center. Medical professionals determined that he was in critical but stable condition, having sustained severe injuries including four fractured ribs and damage to his spleen. Additionally, Yahya suffered a laceration on his head and significant facial pain, which he described from his hospital bed.

In an interview with WABC, Yahya recounted the little he could remember of the incident. He recalled buying food and then the next memory he had was waking up in the hospital, surrounded by medical staff. “I feel bad. Very bad. I can’t even move,” Yahya lamented, his voice reflecting the pain and helplessness he felt. His injuries have not only left him immobilized but also deeply traumatized.

The NYPD has been actively investigating the case and has released surveillance footage of the suspect to apprehend him. The footage shows a clear image of the attacker, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. Despite the release of the footage, the assailant remains at large, causing continued concern among residents.

The brutal attack on Yahya has highlighted the vulnerability of elderly individuals in urban environments and has sparked discussions about the need for increased security measures. Community leaders and residents alike are calling for more patrols and better lighting in the area to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

As Yahya faces an uncertain road to recovery, the community’s support and the efforts of law enforcement to bring the perpetrator to justice remain crucial. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the random and senseless violence that can occur and the impact it has on the victims and their communities.
