New York’s Staten Island. Authorities claim that a 21-year-old guy from West Brighton is facing numerous charges for allegedly threatening to kill his older brother.
According to court filings, the incident happened on Wednesday at the siblings’ home on Elizabeth Street. Authorities said that after a verbal altercation with his brother at approximately 2:50 p.m., 21-year-old Andrew Francis brandished a box cutter, aimed it at him, and declared, in full and substance, “I will kill you.”
According to a representative for the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office (RCDA), the victim called the police after the two guys parted ways, and they arrived on the spot and spent ten minutes searching the neighborhood.
When police officers got back to the house, they located Francis and took him into custody. According to the RCDA spokesperson, the box cutter was found in Francis’ jacket pocket by responding cops.
Authorities said that Francis was fidgeting while being transported to the 120th Precinct for booking. According to the RCDA spokesperson, Francis allegedly admitted to having a gun in a secret pocket of his jacket after being questioned by an officer about the disturbance.
Police found a loaded Glock 42.380 caliber semi-automatic handgun in Francis’ inside jacket pocket, according to court filings. According to the RCDA spokesperson, the gun was supposedly loaded with six rounds and had a red dot laser pointer attached.
Francis does not have a permit to carry a firearm or revolver in New York City, according to the authorities, who discovered this via a computer check.
Court documents charge Francis with menacing, harassment, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a firearm.
By the time of publication, a Francis lawyer was unavailable to comment.
