ALTOONA, PA – In a significant operation conducted by the Blair County Drug Task Force, law enforcement officials uncovered a cache of illicit substances and firearms during a search of a residence located at 320 5th Avenue. The operation, which took place on Monday, May 20th, resulted in the arrest of Harold Kareem Bostick, a 33-year-old individual hailing from Brooklyn.
Upon arriving at the scene, Bostick attempted to evade capture but was swiftly apprehended by officers, underscoring the swift and decisive action taken by law enforcement personnel. Subsequent searches of the premises yielded startling discoveries, shedding light on the extent of illegal activities taking place within the residence.
Among the items seized were approximately 1.5 ounces of crack cocaine, with an estimated street value of $4,200, highlighting the pervasive presence of narcotics within the community. Additionally, officers recovered $3,000 in cash, underscoring the lucrative nature of the illicit drug trade.
Furthermore, law enforcement officials discovered a drug press commonly used in the manufacturing of pills, indicative of sophisticated drug production operations being conducted within the confines of the residence. Moreover, the presence of two marijuana plants and associated cultivation equipment underscores the multifaceted nature of the illegal activities being perpetrated by Bostick.
In a troubling development, authorities also recovered a Raven SP25 .25 Caliber handgun with an obliterated serial number, raising concerns regarding the proliferation of firearms in conjunction with drug-related criminal enterprises. This discovery underscores the inherent dangers posed by the intersection of narcotics trafficking and illegal firearms possession, necessitating a concerted effort to address these issues within the community.
Of particular concern is Bostick’s criminal history, as authorities revealed that he is a convicted felon from New York with prior charges related to possession with intent to deliver cocaine and crystal methamphetamine. This information underscores the need for vigilant enforcement efforts to combat recidivist offenders who pose a continued threat to public safety.
