Popular restaurant chain is raising its prices, report says

New York’s Staten Island — Now, the guacamole will undoubtedly cost more.

According to a recent NBC News story, Chipotle, the well-known creator of the burrito bowl, will shortly be increasing prices by roughly 2%.

According to the news outlet, the corporation established the rise in response to inflation fears.

Chipotle’s chief corporate relations officer, Laurie Schalow, told NBC News that the company has implemented a small price rise of about 2% nationwide to counteract inflation for the first time in more than a year.

According to NBC News, Truist Financial was the first to notice the price increase, noting that prices at 20% of the Chipotle restaurants nationwide that were polled had gone up in the previous week.

On Staten Island, there are now two Chipotle locations: 2602 Hylan Blvd. in New Dorp and 2655 Richmond Ave. in the Staten Island Mall.
